Superdrug partnership

Cancer Research UK is delighted to be working in partnership with Superdrug to promote skin cancer awareness to staff and customers.
The campaign will see leaflets and skin cancer prevention tips displayed in store as well as sunscreen application demonstrations. Superdrug is also providing support to this years’ SunSmart schools competition.
Lizzy Jagger is the face of the Superdrug campaign. She says “I think it's great that Cancer Research UK and Superdrug are working together to raise awareness of the dangers of burning from the sun and I hope it encourages people to get to know their own skin and what's safe for them.”
Visit your nearest Superdrug store, or Superdrug’s website, for more information.
Bring on the sun - don’t let sunburn catch you out
- Enjoy the sun safely – sunburn can greatly increase the risk of skin cancer. Whether you’re at home or abroad use shade, clothing and at least factor 15 sunscreen to protect your skin.
- Get to know your skin type – finding out how your skin normally reacts in the sun will help you work out what you need to do to avoid getting sunburn.
- Apply sunscreen correctly – sunscreen only works if you use enough and reapply regularly. As a guide, this means around 2 tablespoonfuls for your whole body, or 2 teaspoonfuls if you’re just covering your head, arms and neck. No sunscreen, whether it’s factor 15 or 50, will offer the protection it claims unless you apply it properly.
- Spotting skin cancer early saves lives – keep an eye on your skin and report any changes in the shape, size or colour of any new or existing spots, freckles or moles to your GP without delay.
